Last Argument Of Kings concludes Joe Abercrombie’s The First Law trilogy.
Am I the only reader who felt let down by the conclusion?
Sure, it was realistic enough - the guy(s) didn’t get the girl(s) and the bad guys won (sort of) - but where was the resolution we all wanted (needed) after 2,000 pages of reading?
Abercrombie has created some of the most memorable and multi-faceted characters I can remember and Logen Ninefingers (stop laughing at the back) and Superior Glokta will live on in my memory for quite some time. But then he just left them in limbo.
Does he not understand how the fantasy genre works? I demand a proper conclusion!
I feel a sulk coming on…
